Brooke Mathis

Brooke N. Mathis was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan in 1989. She is a current resident of the City of Detroit and enjoys giving back to her community through her practice at Koussan Law, where she has been employed as an Attorney since 2019.

In 2012, Brooke earned her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in Political Science. During her studies at Michigan State, Brooke worked in several capacities in the restaurant business, to pay her way through college.

Brooke graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2017 with a Bronze Key distinction for academic achievement. During law school, Brooke was a lead competitor on the Mock Trial National Team and earned the John E.S. Scott Endowed Memorial Scholarship for trial advocacy. Brooke also worked at a renowned personal injury firm for two years during law school, which taught her much about lead poisoning, dog bite, wrongful death and motor vehicle collision cases.

After law school, Brooke was mentored by one of her professors at Wayne Law who wrote the book on No-Fault litigation in Michigan. She also gained experience at a business litigation firm in Ann Arbor, where she learned about contracts, business disputes and out-of-state pro hac vice advocacy for business rights.

Brooke focuses her practice on personal injury, general civil litigation and business litigation. Brooke is an experienced Personal Injury attorney, having helped litigate numerous actions in the Tri-County area. She has represented individual and provider clients against insurance agencies, helping them receive the highest benefits they are entitled to under Michigan law.

Brooke is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is also admitted to practice in the Eastern and Western District of Michigan.

In her free time, Brooke enjoys yoga, golf, making craft cocktails and trying new restaurants in Detroit and surrounding areas with her friends.
