Nicolas Monarrez

Nicolas J. Monarrez was born in Nampa, Idaho in 1997. He is a current resident of the City of Livonia in Southeast Michigan. Nic enjoys giving back to his community through his practice at Koussan Law.

In 2015, Nic graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona with his Bachelor of Arts and Humanities in Governmental Studies with an emphasis in Legal Studies.

During his studies at Grand Canyon, Nic was involved with various student organizations including the university’s mock trial team.

Nic graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2021. During law school, Nic was involved as a board member with the Student Bar Association, Chicano Latino Law Student Association, and the Post-Conviction Clinic. Nic focused on criminal law during law school and became a Certified Limited Practice Student. This special certification allowed him to handle cases from start to finish while still studying. This early exposure to cases and clients helped Nic to develop a client-facing approach to his work and a drive to achieve the best results possible.

After law school and passing the bar exam, Nic was hired as an attorney for a criminal defense firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. While working with this firm, Nic won several jury trials along with winning many bench trials. In June of 2023, Nic was hired as an attorney with Koussan Law.

Nic focuses his practice on personal injury and general civil litigation. Nic has helped litigate numerous actions in his short time with Koussan Law. He has represented individual and provider clients against insurance agencies, helping them receive the highest benefits they are entitled to under Michigan law.

Nic is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is also admitted to practice in the Eastern District of Michigan. Nic maintains memberships with the Detroit Bar Association, the Michigan Association for Justice, and the Hispanic Bar Association.

In his free time, Nic enjoys spending time with his wife and three young boys. He is also very active, taking time out to run or play a game of pickup basketball. If he is not participating in the game, you will catch him watching it.
